Thatcher Lyman

Mary E. Larew Naomi Morse Sam Sytsma Christopher Macklin

Thatcher Lyman holds degrees from Oberlin College and Conservatory in Oberlin, OH, the University of York in York, UK, and the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY, where he is pursuing a DMA degree in Organ Performance under Dr. Hans Davidsson. His past organ teachers include James David Christie and Haskell Thomson, and he studied voice and ensemble singing with Anna Maria Friman and John Potter.

In 2009, Thatcher received EastmanŐs Gerald Barnes Award for Excellence in Pipe Organ. He was also a finalist for the 2010 John R. Rodland Memorial Scholarship. Most recently, Thatcher was selected as a semifinalist for the 2012 NYACOP competition. He has worked as an Alto Choral Scholar at York Minster in York, UK and as Director of Music at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Webster, NY. He is Director of Music at St. MaryŐs Church in Rochester, NY and is Assistant Director of the Schola Cantorum of Christ Church, Rochester, NY.
