The Uncloistered sound is one of synergistic blend and ethereal purity, with <a href="pronunciation.htm">historically appropriate pronunciation</a> and inflection of texts. </p> <p> <image src=img/indent.jpg" border=0 width=50 height=7> <img src=img/uncloistered.jpg align=right border=1 width=330> Uncloistered formed in January, 2003, while the five members were attending Oberlin College and Conservatory. Our performances took place mainly in Oberlin, OH, Cleveland, OH, and Iowa City, IA (USA). Upon graduating from Oberlin, we moved to York to study in the unique Ensemble Singing program, studying under <b><a href="http://www.john-potter.co.uk">John Potter</a></b>, a member of the <a href="http://www.hilliardensemble.demon.co.uk/">Hilliard Ensemble</a> from 1984 to 2001 and a founder of the ensemble <a href="http://www-users.york.ac.uk/~jp32/redbyrd">Red Byrd</a>, and <b><a href="http://www.annamariafriman.com">Anna Maria Friman</a></b> of the world-renowned ensemble <a href="http://www.triomediaeval.no/">Trio Mediaeval</a>. </p> <p> <image src=img/indent.jpg" border=0 width=50 height=7> Uncloistered is available for hire for any and all special occasions, including weddings and funerals.
